Корреляция адаптивная — адаптивная система, состоящая из серии генов, по отношению к которым отбор был благоприятным, и специфических генов, способных компенсировать одновременный отрицательный эффект отбираемых генов и тем самым обеспечить высокую селективную ценность подвергающихся отбору признаков. При достаточном уровне приспособленности особей — носителей этих признаков сохраняется и адаптивная система как целое. Сохранение К. а. — результат направленного действия отбора, ведущий в свою очередь к селективной корреляции (см. Корреляция селективная).
